The work demonstrates how Andrzej Stasiuk use the mythisation techniques to describe the East-Central Europe and Galicia. The first chapter mainly contains theoretical reflections on cultural and literary phenomenon, which is a myth. This chapter also specifies the description of terms which are used to give reality to the characteristics of the myth. The rest of the paper is an analysis of individual elements of the world created by the Stasiuk. In a broader sense, when ‘Jadąc do Babadag’and ‘Fado’ are taken as a basis, the subject of discussion is the image of East-Central Europe, resulting most often in confrontation with the West of Europe.
