The main aim of this work is to present the interindividual and intraindividual differences in the educational learned helplessness level as well as in the level of locus of control over the school marks within the group of mild mental retardation students and their mentally able peers. Furthermore, this work presents the dependences between these variables. A developmental perspective has been included in the research. Three 120-person age groups participated in the study (primary school, secondary school and vocational school students). Within each group, 60 individuals constituted an experimental group and 60 a control group.
