In this study, the preparation, characterization and drug release behavior of vancomycin-loaded poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) microspheres are described. PLGA copolymers: 50/50, 70/30, 85/15 and levorotary form of copolymer 85/15 were used. Vancomycin – a glicopeptide antibiotic was used as a model substance. Microspheres were yielded by the multiple evaporation method using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and dichloromethane. Furthermore, physical mixtures in 1+1 proportion were prepared from microspheres by adding hydroxyapatite with particle size below 60 μm. All the microspheres preparation resulted in spherical shape, light color and the size range from 10 μm to 65 μm. Additionally, using the polarizing microscope, the surface of DL – PLGA 50...
