The role of library of John Paul II Junior High School in Klobuck in shaping students' information culture.

The object of this thesis is the library of John Paul II Junior High School in Klobuck that is seen from the angle of its role in forming information culture. It contains the characteristics of the information culture and information society. Special emphasis was put on the discussion on models of school libraries and the prospects of creating multimedia information technology center in the school' s library. The purpose of this study was to diagnose the factors present in the school library, which affect the forming of the students' information culture, to identify the factors impeding the information development and to determine the students’ opinions on the librarians and the library as a place of dissemination of the information culture. Thanks to the research it was found out that the library of John Paul II Junior High School in Klobuck faces difficulties related to the development of the students' information culture. The methods and forms of work do not create optimal conditions for the formation of proper attitudes and information behavior of the students. The students have expressed positive opinions on the work of the librarians.Przedmiotem pracy jest biblioteka szkolna Gimnazjum im. Jana Pawła II w Kłobucku postrzegana przez pryzmat jej roli w kształtowaniu kultury informacyjnej. W pracy dokonano charakterystyki kultury informacyjnej oraz społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Szczególny nacisk położono na omówienie modeli bibliotek szkolnych, a także perspektywy tworzenia biblioteki szkolnej jako multimedialnego centrum informacji. Celem badań było zdiagnozowanie czynników występujących w bibliotece szkolnej, które wpływają na kształtowanie kultury informacyjnej uczniów, rozpoznanie czynników hamujących rozwój informacyjny oraz ustalenie opinii uczniów o bibliotekarzach i bibliotece szkolnej jako miejscu upowszechniania kultury informacyjnej. Dzięki przeprowadzonym badaniom stwierdzono, że biblioteka szkolna Gimnazjum im. Jana Pawła II w Kłobucku zmaga się z trudnościami związanymi z rozwojem kultury informacyjnej uczniów. Metody i formy jej pracy nie stwarzają optymalnych warunków do powstawania prawidłowych postaw i zachowań informacyjnych uczniów. Gimnazjaliści pozytywnie wyrazili się o pracy nauczycieli- bibliotekarzy
