The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze as the creator and stimulus to the development of tourism in the Podbeskidzie region and investigate issues related to the management of the said organization using the example of the Bielsko-Biała branch of the PTTK. The first chapter is devoted to the history of tourism societies in Poland and the changes that they went under over the last 150 years. The second chapter adresses issues related to the ideas of management, marketing, tourist product in regard to the functioning of the Podbeskidzie branch of the PTTK.
