The subject of this research is the most popular social network, Facebook, and it’s effect on our modern society. This study emphasizes the strong influence Facebook has on everyday rituals and human habits, as well as attempts to find reasons behind this unprecedented popularity of this social network.The title ‘Vague profiles, fake faces: An anthropological study of the social network, Facebook’ challenges completeness of a virtual existance, with plenty of real life examples. These voids in life are caused by a change in the way we perceive time and space, as well as limited sensory stimuli.
