This work was carried out to examine the influence of copper on the development of fungi isolated from Mielichhoferia elongata and Vaccinium myrtillus, growing in a copper contaminated stream, flowing from a copper mine in the Alps. Six isolated strains of fungi (Cu mos I1/3, IVD/2, Xc/1, Fusarium sp., Hymenoscyphus sp., Mortierella alpina) were studied and their copper tolerance was measured.Copper influenced the growth and development of fungi.
