In the present research work thirteen kidney stones belonging to ten patients were studied. They were examined using optical microscope in transmitted light, scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with an energy dispersive spectrometer EDS, infrared absorption spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray powder diffraction. Mineral composition of all kidney stones was identified by means of analytical methods. All specimens were polimineral. The most often occurring calculi were: calcium oxalate mono- and dihydrate, carbonate apatite, apatite, struvite, uric acid and brushite.
