A Kingdom Jack’d in 2018 at the University of Iowa New Play Festival; another play written by Scott Bradley from the University of Iowa. The show is set in the 1400s, A Kingdom Jack’d is a retelling of Shakespeare’s Henry IV. King Richard has been replaced by Jack Falstaff who is famous for his roguish attitude. The crown of England is in the wrong hands which inspire different factions of the kingdom to threaten his reign. In the end the least expecting person takes the crown. This show was a challenge because of the period costumes, sword fighting and cast playing multiple characters.
