How does networked reading of several cautionary tales and the appropriation of their narrative structure facilitate the acquisition of the “story telling” skill from a visual support among kindergarten pupils? By relying on official texts and numerous theoretical contributions around language skills in kindergarten, this professional essay examines the close links between the ability to tell an invented story and other language skills. A teaching sequence based on the Narramus method was implemented to develop the pupils language skills. Following this sequence, the pupils were led to produce a fictional story from a visual support.
