Les représentations de l'EPS chez les lycéen.ne.s : le rapport à l'EPS et à la mixité des élèves de lycée en 2020

The pupils are coming to the Physical Education classes with conceptions that are guiding and giving sense to their actions. Furthermore, the general objective of this study is to bring into light the students’ social classes’ variety thanks to the Physical Education discipline in order to understand the influence of them on their choices inside and outside school, adding also their relationship to diversity. This observation leads us to have a better knowledge of the new generation of students, to determine the tensions between their expectations and the current proposals from official texts, to identify the gaps between the representations that we have regarding them and what they really are, and finally to confirm if the teachers’ feelings shared are accurate or not. Through descriptive and comparative analyses, the 195 students’ answers to the survey have been highlighting their representations in Physical Education that can sometimes be based on their gender, level or field of education. Therefore, the social-cultural beliefs keep on existing within the High School, which interferes, prevents the engagement of a few students during the Physical Education classes, and can as well be the origin of the inequalities between girls and boys.Les adolescents arrivent en classe d’EPS avec des conceptions qui guident et donnent du sens à leurs actions. Le projet général de cette étude est alors de mettre en avant la dynamique des représentations sociales des lycéen·ne·s sur la discipline EPS afin de comprendre l’influence que ces dernières peuvent avoir dans leurs choix scolaires et extra-scolaires ainsi que sur leur rapport à la mixité. Ce travail de recherche vise ainsi à mieux connaitre les lycéen·ne·s d’aujourd’hui, à déterminer les tensions entre leurs attentes et les propositions actuelles des textes officiels, à identifier les écarts entre les représentations que nous avons d’eux et ce qu’ils sont ou pensent en réalité, à confirmer ou non certains ressentis que les enseignants partagent parfois sur le terrain. Au travers d’analyses descriptives et comparatives, les réponses au questionnaire des 195 lycéen·ne·s ont mis en évidence que leurs représentations de l’EPS étaient parfois dépendantes du sexe, du niveau ou du secteur d’enseignement. Ainsi, les croyances socio-culturelles persistent au lycée ce qui empêchent et gênent l’engagement de certains élèves en EPS et sont notamment à l’origine des inégalités entre les filles et les garçons
