Optimisation du couchage des nourrissons et turbulettes brodées « Je dors sur le dos » en maternité

Objective: It aims at evaluating the impact of using baby’s sleeping bag on which it is printed “I sleep on the back”; thus respecting the recommendations for one-month babies.Methods: A multicenter prospective study, implying exposed / not exposed persons, through declarative survey. The exposed group consisted of mothers who gave birth in a maternity of the perinatal network of Loire-Nord-Ardèche using the printed sleeping bag. The unexposed group consisted of mothers who gave birth in a maternity of the perinatal network of 2 Savoy, without specific prevention action. Mothers were consulted on their practices at one month. Results: 540 mothers participated in the study, 245 in the exposed group, 295 in the unexposed group (average age 30.4 years, 44% primiparous). Exclusive dorsal sleep position was more common in the exposed group (87.3%) versus the unexposed one (75.9%, p <0.001). The dorsal sleep position was 91% among mothers declaring to have actually used the printed sleeping bag. With the exception of co-rooming, compliance with the other recommendations was higher in the exposed group. Discussion and conclusion: We find a statistically significant link between the use of the printed “I sleep on the back” sleeping bag and a better respect of the recommendations. The scientific literature reports the positive results of prevention programs. The low respect of infant safe sleep recommendations and the effectiveness of preventive actions should lead to the establishment of national programs.Introduction : La mortalité par mort inattendue du nourrisson stagne en France. Objectif : évaluer l’impact de l’utilisation en maternité d’une turbulette brodée « je dors sur le dos » sur le respect des recommandations de couchage à un mois de vie.
