International audienceThis study analyses the daily minimum (TN) and maximum (TX) air temperature from six stations in the Grenoble area (Isère, France) during the summer of 2019. The method consists of detecting the presence of heat waves (HW) by exceeding bio meteorological thresholds (TN ≥19°C and TX ≥34°C) for at least three consecutive days. The study reveals an early heat wave at the end of June in four of the six stations studied. A 2nd HW begins on July 24th in most urban and peri-urban stations; it is longer and more severe, with peaks > 40°C; a 3rd HW is recorded in the 1st 10-day period of August in stations close to road traffic.
