Les méthodes alternatives et complémentaires aux traitements pharmacologiques pour la prise en charge des patients souffrant de dépression

Depression is an invalidating and disabling pathology that affects more and more people all over the world. It has a major impact in terms of morbidity and mortality and is also a very important expense in the total cost of health services. This pathology can reach individuals of all ages, it is a real public health problem. In addition to its growing impact, depression is a disease where a large number of patients present with recurring and persistent disorders not relieved by conventional therapies. The objective of this study is to explore the alternative and complementary methods to antidepressant pharmacological treatments for the management of depression.The problem is therefore : what is the role of the dispensary pharmacist in the care path of these patients and how cant hey accompany, advise and improve their compliance in order to have a positive impact in their care process and healing ? To answer these questions, various alternative techniques (phytotherapy, nutrition, aromatherapy etc.) and complementary will be exposed. In addition, a survey distributed to patients in pharmacies was analyzed in order to obtain their opinion on these different problems. Based on these findings, depression is an extremely complex condition and each patient must be treated differently and in its entirety in order to obtain the best response. More and more people are using secondary medicines and the place of the pharmacist is paramount in the care path of these patients. However, it remains to be seen that this is still a disease whose causes are still poorly known and need to be investigated further, research on new therapeutics is emerging notably on the role of the intestinal microbiota. They could in a short time revolutionize the management of depressive patients.La dépression est une pathologie invalidante qui touche de plus en plus de personnes dans le monde. Elle a une incidence majeure en termes de morbidité et de mortalité et constitue aussi une dépense très importante dans le coût total des services de santé. Elle peut atteindre des sujets de tout âge : c’est un véritable problème de santé publique. En plus de son impact grandissant, c’est une maladie où un grand nombre de patients présente des troubles récurrents non soulagés par les thérapeutiques classiques. L’objectif de cette étude est d’évaluer quelles peuvent être les méthodes alternatives et complémentaires aux traitements pharmacologiques pour la prise en charge de la dépression. La problématique est la suivante : quel est le rôle du pharmacien d’officine dans le parcours de soins de ces patients ; comment peut-il les accompagner, les conseiller et améliorer leur observance afin d’avoir un impact positif dans leur processus de guérison ? Pour répondre à ces questions, différentes techniques alternatives complémentaires sont exposées. Un sondage distribué aux patients dans les officines a été analysé afin de recueillir leur opinion sur ces différentes problématiques. La dépression est une pathologie extrêmement complexe, chaque patient doit être traité différemment et dans sa globalité afin d’obtenir la meilleure réponse qui soit. De plus en plus d’individus ont recours à des médecines secondaires et la place du pharmacien est primordiale dans leur parcours de soins.
