Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the obstacles and levers for the creation and practice in a Birth House of independent midwives around Romans-sur-Isere. Material and methods: It is a qualitative descriptive prospective single-center study conducted by semi-directive interviews, using an interview guide, with 11 independent midwives working around Romans-sur-Isère. We then carried out a horizontal thematic analysis from the full transcript of the interviews. Results: The thematic analysis of the results showed that the establishment of a birth house is only possible if the midwives can feel really safe in there.
