Analyse paysagère des changements d'usage des terres sur l'état du couvert forestier à Paragominas, Para (Brésil)

Today, Paragominas, a characteristic amazonian pioneering front municipality, has a complex landscape matrix composed of agricultural and forest elements. The combined use of soils and landscapes is changing qualitatively despite a slowdown in deforestation at the Brazilian legal Amazon scale (INPE) and the stabilization of the landscapes spatial structuration induced. Assuming that the spatial landscapes organization reflects agricultural practices, this study has the methodological objective of evaluating remote sensing data to map the land cover at different dates and to particularly characterize the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images contribution to supervised classifications using the "Random Forest" algorithm. On the basis of these detailed land-use maps, calculations of landscape metrics and transition trajectories will provide answers to the thematic objective of understanding how changes in land use have influenced the state of the forest land cover. The first results show that detailed mapping at the municipal level is possible to obtain. It has been determined, after comparing the sensors, that the fusion of radar images with optical images gives the best results in terms of classification with a kappa index of 0.83. However, the classifications derived from optical data (Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8) have the advantage of requiring less variables input into the model to achieve a stabilization of the kappa index at a satisfactory level (at, 78 and 0, 81 respectively) compared to the classification resulting from the fusion of radar and optical images. This aspect is to be considered for a methodology that aims to be reproducible with a quick calculation time and ease of execution.De nos jours, Paragominas, municipalité caractéristique d’un front pionnier amazonien, possède une matrice paysagère complexe composée d’éléments agricoles et forestiers. L’utilisation des sols et des paysages forestiers évolue qualitativement malgré un ralentissement de la déforestation à l’échelle de l’Amazonie légale brésilienne (INPE) et la stabilisation de la structuration spatiale des paysages induite. En partant de l’hypothèse que l’organisation spatiale des paysages reflète les pratiques des acteurs, cette étude a pour objectif d’établir des relations entre l’état du couvert forestier et l’organisation spatiale de la matrice paysagère et son évolution dans le temps et dans l’espace à l’échelle de la municipalité de Paragominas dans l’état du Pará au Brésil. Pour ce faire, un objectif méthodologique sera d’évaluer les données de télédétection pour cartographier l’occupation du sol à différentes dates et notamment de caractériser l’apport du radar aux classifications supervisées utilisant l’algorithme « Random Forest ». À partir de ces cartographies fines d’occupation du sol, les calculs des métriques paysagères et des matrices de transitions permettront de caractériser l’évolution de la structure des paysages. Les premiers résultats montrent que les données de télédétection permettent l’obtention de cartographies fines à l’échelle de la municipalité. Il a été déterminé, après comparaison des capteurs, que la fusion des images radar avec les images optiques donnait les meilleurs résultats en termes de classification avec un indice de kappa de 0,83. Cependant, les classifications issues des données optiques (Sentinel-2 et Landsat 8) présentent l’avantage de demander très peu de variables en entrée de modèle pour la stabilisation de l’indice de kappa à un niveau satisfaisant (à 0,81 et 0,78 respectivement) comparativement à la classification issue de la fusion des images radar et optiques. Cet aspect est à prendre en considération pour une méthodologie qui se veut reproductible avec un temps de calcul rapide et une facilité d’exécution
