Impact du syndrome d’apnées obstructives du sommeil sur le résultat d’une chirurgie bariatrique, à partir de la cohorte SOON

INTRODUCTION: Bariatric surgery leads to body weight loss and improved obesity-related co-morbidities. This study aimed at evaluating the impact of severe, treated obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) on weight loss, risk of complications and evolution of metabolic comorbidities at 1 year postoperatively. MATERIALS AND METHODS: All patients who underwent bariatric surgery and one-year of post-operative follow-up between September 1, 2013 and June 1, 2019 were included. The percentage of excess weight loss (%EWL), the complications’ rate and the regression of comorbidities were compared between groups with and without severe OSAS. RESULTS: A total of 371 patients, 215 (58%) without and 156 (42%) with severe OSAS were included. The body weight loss was lower in the group with severe OSAS 62.6% EWL [44.3; 77.7] than in the group without severe OSAS 73.1%EWL [55.2; 87.5] (p <0.01). In multivariate analysis no association was found between severe OSAS and %EWL, complication rate, remission of type 2 diabetes, hypertension and cardiometabolic risk markers. CONCLUSION: The presence of a severe, treated, OSAS doesn’t affect the body weight loss, the risk of complications or the remission of metabolic comorbidities at 1 year of bariatric surgery.CONTEXTE : La chirurgie bariatrique permet une perte de poids et une amélioration des comorbidités liées à l’obésité. Cette étude a pour objectif d’évaluer si le SAOS sévère traité influence les résultats et les risques de complications des patients à 1 an post opératoire. MATERIELS ET METHODES : Tous les patients ayant bénéficié d’une chirurgie bariatrique avec un an de suivi post-opératoire entre le 1er septembre 2013 et le 1er juin 2019 sont inclus.
