Background. During pregnancy, many women suffer from “common complaints”. These complaints occur frequently and are perfectly normal; they play an important part in women’s experience of pregnancy. Modern medicine offers few possibilities of treatment, and the demand for complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is high. Objective. To describe the prevalence of CAM use in Grenoble and its surrounding area, in order to gain knowledge through women’s experience. Methods. Quantitative transversal observational study of the use of CAMs by women. A questionnaire was delivered to women having been through pregnancy.
