Background: Endocrine disruptors (ED) are exogenous substances that alter the endocrine system functions of the human body or its descendants. They represent a recognized threat to human health, particularly during fetal life. The peri-conceptional period is therefore a susceptibility window where exposure to ED should be minimized. However, women of childbearing age are daily exposed to ED and do not seem to be sufficiently informed on the subject.
