International audienceA near field UHF RFID reader antenna based on composite right/left handed is proposed. The ability to generate a steady current when the structure is balanced is used to maximize the read range of UHF RFID tag. A read range of 550 mm over a surface 240x180 mm² is obtained with near-field UHF RFID tags (1×1 cm²). The structure is also configurable as the current remains constant whatever the length of the antenna
