Previous meta-analyses showed that a low to moderate alcohol consumption could decrease the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis. Moreover, a moderate use of alcohol in man was in favor of a better radiographic score of joint/articular destruction. We performed a systematic review in three data bases PubMed, Cochrane and Embase on the impact of alcohol consumption on structural damage of RA patients. 1081 articles were screened, 1093 were excluded after reading the titles and abstracts.
