Piezoelectric capacitive NanoGenerators (NG) based on vertically grown crystalline zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO-NWs) have been fabricated using a low-cost and scalable hydrothermal method on gold-coated silicon substrates, which served as both a seed layer and a conductive bottom electrode. Morphological and structural characterizations demonstrate that the obtained ZnO NWs are dense, uniformly distributed, vertically well aligned and exhibit good crystal quality.
