Bariatric laparoscopic surgery is a solution for weight loss that involves surgical trocars for maintaining insufflation of the abdominal cavity. The trocars used for these surgeries have been known to release carbon dioxide throughout the procedure. For this reason, the team\u27s goal was to create a design for a trocar seal that was able to maintain insufflation throughout the passage of tools. The team\u27s design consisted of an outer plastic casing attached to the cannula, that houses an inflatable seal that compresses around the surgical tool in use.
