Historias de los no humanos. La especulación artística como recurso para aproximarse a otras realidades

Understanding the ecosphere and the complex relationships that take place in it requires to be placed in other non-human points of view. But, how can we approach the non-human from our anthropic capacities and limitations? Literature, cinema and visual art have used speculative narrative as an instrument to approach the non-human other. In this article, three contemporary art projects where speculative narrative has been used to confront the non-human other are presented: Confronting Vegetal Otherness (2015-present), by Špela Petrič, which analyzes the plant otherness by means of a reciprocal interaction; History of Others (2012-present), by Laura Gustafsson and Terike Haapoja, which raises an alternative history from the perspective of the non-human animals; and The Plantocene (2017-present), my own artistic project based on an Anthropocene story from the plants point of view.Comprender la ecosfera y las complejas relaciones que en ella se suceden requiere situarse en puntos de vista no humanos. Pero ¿cómo aproximarse a lo no humano desde nuestras capacidades y limitaciones antrópicas? La literatura, el cine y el arte visual han utilizado la narrativa especulativa como instrumento para acercarse a ello. En este artículo se exponen tres proyectos artísticos contemporáneos en los que se ha utilizado la narrativa especulativa para confrontarse con el otro no humano: Confronting vegetal otherness (2015-), de Špela Petrič, que analiza la alteridad de la planta desde la interacción recíproca; History of others (2012-), de Laura Gustafsson y Terike Haapoja, que plantea una historia alternativa desde la perspectiva de los animales no humanos, y El Plantoceno (2017-), un trabajo artístico mío estructurado sobre un relato del Antropoceno desde el punto de vista de las plantas
