With the increasing popularity of information technology services, collaborative filtering technique has been applied to research paper recommender systems. But collaborative filtering encounters cold-start problem in case of papers having no user feedbacks. For content-based analysis, vector space model is the most popular model for computing document similarity. However, this model suffers from sparsity problem.
