The 20th anniversary of the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement (“GP20”) in 2018 offered a welcome opportunity to draw renewed attention to the issue of internal displacement globally, both for researchers and policy practitioners. Building on the initiatives associated with this anniversary, the High Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD) on International Displacement at the European University Institute aimed to support efforts to address and prevent internal displacement, by analysing the level of implementation of the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement (GP), and by identifying the best practices that could form the basis for future action
