The pelagic fish resources of Java Sea have been exploited since long time by many gears. Among which are purse seine, payang net (a kind of Danish seine), gill net and lift net. In particular, three fleets of purse seiners linked to the size of the seine, the boat and the fishing unit, share this resources. This paper presents the development of one of them. The topics discuss the fishing activities and catch composition. (Résumé d'auteur
