Improving reliability in the operation of equipment operating in a water-containing environment is associated with solving the problem of hydrogen embrittlement of metals. In the absence of a rigorous physical theory, it becomes necessary to predict the carrying capacity of various structures based on the available experimental data showing a decrease in the mechanical properties of materials in contact with hydrogen.
