Among NCDs, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are major contributors to the high mortality rate, therefore early detection of CVDs is needed. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) is a non-invasive measure used to evaluate the progression of atherosclerosis, an underlying cause of CVD.
