This collection of stories is assembled into canastas or baskets. The canastas include memoir, oral narratives, translations, and reportage. La Canasta de Memoria is the beginning chapters of a book-length manuscript and contains micro-narratives, fragments, hybrid arrangements, and metatextual commentary about my life as a first-generation Mexican American. La Canasta de Testimonio, or oral narratives, concentrates on the experiences and challenges Latinx communities face living in Portland, Oregon.
