Lai gan Kriminālprocesa likumā attiecībā uz mantas aresta institūtu ir veikti grozījumi vairākkārt, tomēr joprojām pastāv problēmjautājumi attiecībā uz mantas aresta piemērošanu kriminālprocesā. Darba tēmas aktualitāti apstiprina Valsts policijas 2019. gada pārskats. Tajā norādīts, ka pēdējā laikā uzsākto kriminālprocesu skaits par noziedzīgi iegūtu līdzekļu legalizāciju pieaudzis, tāpat pieaudzis mantas aresta piemērošanas skaits kriminālprocesos. Bakalaura darba izstrādes laikā tika noskaidrotas saistībā ar aresta uzlikšanu mantai kriminālprocesā piemērošanas problēmas, rasti iespējamie risinājumi un secināts, ka Kriminālprocesa likumā ir nepieciešams ieviest jēdziena “mantas arests” definīciju, kā arī Kriminālprocesa likumā jāveic grozījumi attiecībā uz lēmuma par aresta uzlikšanu mantai pārsūdzēšanas kārtību. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no 66 lapām, 4 nodaļām, nobeiguma un 3 pielikumiem. Within the framework of Bachelor's theses, the procedural means - seizure of a property in criminal proceedings will be looked into. Although the Criminal Law has been amended several times, with regard to the institute of seizure of property, there are still problems with the application of seizure of property in criminal proceedings. The significance of the theses is confirmed by the 2019 report of the State Police. It states that the number of recently initiated criminal proceedings for money laundering has increased, as has the number of applications for seizure of property in criminal proceedings. During the formulation of the bachelor's thesis, the problems regarding application of seizure of property in criminal proceedings were clarified, possible solutions were found and it was concluded, that the Criminal Law needs to introduce a definition of “seizure of property”, as well as amendments need to be made to the Criminal Law regarding the procedure for appealing against a decision to seize property.
