The Army is concerned with ways in which it can improve talent management. It focuses almost exclusively upon individuals and their unique qualifications and experiences. However, the Army is not a collection of individuals, rather, it is a collection of teams. Our research examines the applicability of using matchmaking algorithms to model team chemistry to optimize job placement. We adopted a practical, qualitative approach, using data from discussions with subject matter experts, as well as a review of the relevant literature.
