Improving the United States' electromagnetic (EM) and electro-optical (EO) prediction capabilities is imperative to maintaining a tactical advantage in the operational environment. The objective of this research is to estimate aerosol effects on radiative transfer through the atmosphere, particularly the contribution due to coastal surf-generated aerosol, and will include the characterization and measurement of marine aerosols, especially in coastal regions.
