X-ray Çerenkov radiation can be generated by electrons incident on thin foils. For grazing incidence the Çerenkov radiation intensity can be more than a decade greater than for perpendicular incidence. Experimental results are discussed in terms of a simple formalism. 17 refs., 3 figs.USDOD; DOE/D
