First generation super dielectric materials (SDMs), discovered in our lab, are multi-material mixtures with dielectric constants greater than 105, composed of a porous electrically insulating powders filled with a polarizable, ion-containing liquid. This project is focused on optimizing a more practical second generation SDM (TSDM). These are anodic titania nanotube arrays filled with concentrated aqueous salt solutions.
