This research has been conducted with the objective to understand how the shortage of nurses has been managed by the private psychiatric hospitals in Dublin, and whether or not there is a link between the historical high levels of turnover among nursing with the shortage issue. The author also intends to understand if the private sector has more difficulties to recruit and retain nurses than the public sector has. In order to accomplish realistic results, the researcher will conduct a study involving the three main private psychiatric hospitals in Dublin and using qualitative and quantitative methodologies the researcher intends to successfully gather value information in order to get into a strong conclusion.
