The Parent-Child Home Programme (PCHP) at the Early Learning Initiative (ELI) aims to strengthen the natural bond between parent and child and to encourage a love of learning. Through a series of collaborations between PCHP coordinators and a psychology lecturer in the National College of Ireland (NCI), PCHP practitioners explored recent developments in child research while advanced developmental psychology students examined contemporary child and family interventions. Exemplifying collaborative actions to support and empower children, this work will be discussed in terms of effective knowledge exchange practices between early childhood researchers and practitioners. Plans to develop this collaboration will also be discussed
