HUBUNGAN PEER SUPPORT DENGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT ANTIRETROVIRAL (ARV) PADA ORANG DENGAN HIV/AIDS (ODHA) DI YAYASAN CAHAYA KASIH PEDULI AIDS WPA TUREN

Background: Peer support is a support that provided by and for the peoples who share the same condition. One of the supports that can be provided by fellow PLWHA is the enthusiasm to always take medicine. Adherence to taking medication is very important for PLWHA to maintained the immune system, suppresses viral replication, improves quality of life, and not resistant to therapy. The aim of this study was to determine whether there was a relation between peers support and antiretroviral (ARV) medication adherence among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Method: The research design used a correlational study using a cross sectional approach . The sampling technique used total sampling . The respondents in this study were PLWHA who are at Cahaya Kasih Peduli AIDS Foundation, WPA Turen n = 45. The variables studied were peer support as the independent variable and medication adherence as the dependent variable. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire.
