In our editorial at the start of our tenure as editors of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education (Biesta et al., 2020 ), we formulated eight challenges for the field of teacher education research. While we are aware that these challenges are not all that teacher education research should be concerned with, we do believe that these eight points warrant specific attention over the coming years. We thus wish to encourage those working in the field of teacher education research to consider these challenges and engage with them in their ongoing and new research efforts
