Noor Maulidiyah, MA.\ud The focus in this research is formulated as: (1) how is the personal competence of English teachers at MTsN Mulawarman Banjarmasin? and (2) how is the social competence of English teachers at MTsN Mulawarman Banjarmasin?\ud Based on the research problems stated above, this research is aimed to describe objective data to present a clear description of personal and social competences of English teachers of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) Mulawarman Banjarmasin. The subjects in this research are all English teachers in the school which consist of three male teachers and four female teachers.\ud Data are collected through questionnaire, interview, observation, peer-assessment, and documentary. The data are presented in descriptive qualitative way by describing the personal and social competences of the English teachers in a form of narrative so that the main problems are portrayed clearly.\ud This research also uses descriptive qualitative data analysis method to draw the conclusion deductively by employing particular data and drawing general conclusion from them. The result of this research shows that the percentage of excellent personal and social competence of English teachers in MTsN Mulawarman is 43% and the percentage of good personal and social competence of English teachers in MTsN Mulawarman is 53%
