(II) Nurlaila Kadariah, S.Ag., M.Pd.\ud \ud Research on efforts to increase motivation to learn English through the model of Active Student Learning in the fourth grade students MIN Tungkap District Binuang Tapin District is one of the business community to make English teaching and learning process more conducive to a more active and fun so that students' motivation to learn English can further increased.\ud This study aims to determine whether the model of Active Student Learning is an effort to improve the motivation of fourth grade students in learning English in MIN Tungkap District Binuang Tapin District.\ud The research was conducted on students Kela MIN Tungkap District IV District Binuang Tapin in the school year 2010/2011 the number of students as many as 20 people, consisting of men and women 12 people 8 people. This study was conducted in the second semester of the school year 2010/2011. The design of this study is divided into 2 cycles each cycle consisting of 2 meetings and held at the end of each cycle of action reflection. The results of these reflections are used to make decisions for the implementation of the meeting on the next cycle. Instruments used in this study consisted of test results, observations, and interviews with colleagues. To analyze the data be descriptive.\ud The results showed that application of Active learning using a model of Student Learning (SAL) can enhance students' motivation, it can be seen from the increasing student activity. At a meeting of the first cycle scored 52.4%, a cycle of 54.2% the second meeting, the first meeting of cycle 2 61.9%, and the second meeting of cycle 2 67.5%, thus gaining an average of 84.7%. In addition, the average test scores of students learning outcomes at each end of the cycle also increased. At a meeting of the first cycle of the average student 5.6 7.45 cycles a second meeting, the first meeting of cycle 2 7.95, and 8.20 second cycle 2 meeting.\ud The effectiveness of the use of SAL model in learning English at MIN Tungkap District Binuang Tapin district very well used because in this model do not dominate every lesson the teacher will but involve all the students directly in the learning process. In addition, this model can also increase students' motivation and help students understand the lessons in English
