A.\ud \ud English is a subject that is difficult to be understood by most students, so they should have the effort to overcome the learning difficulties appropriately. Because the causes of learning difficulties that faced by students are very diverse and complex, but by studying, we can identify cause of learning difficulties. So it can be pursued ways to overcome them.\ud This study aims to determine the difficulties faced by the students and the factors that could affect efforts to overcome the learning difficulties at MTs Kebun Bunga Banjarmasin Academic Year 2011/2012.\ud The method of this research is descriptive method, with a population of 116 people, 50% of samples taken by the number of 58 people. Data is collected from the respondents, informants, and documents using data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentary.\ud The data acquired, processed through the process of editing, coding, tabulation and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. Thus, it can be concluded that the diagnosis of learning disability is done through two stages of reviewing the status of students and estimate the causes of learning difficulties. Efforts to overcome learning difficulties was conducted by asking directly to the students, asking for help who are experts in their field, helping students create study groups, evaluate, using various teaching method, and provide remedial instruction. The factors that influence is students’ ability, the circumstance of English teachers who lack the training, not sufficient time in learning, interest and attention of students categorized as very low and learning facilities are limited. And also parent's attention and students’ interest to learn English at home classified as very low
