The problem formulation of this research are 1) what are technique of English teachers in developing students’ speaking skill at SMUN 11 Banjarmasin, and 2) what problems in implementing the techniques in developing students’ speaking skill.\ud Based on the problem formulations, this research is intended to know and describe the techniques of English teachers in developing students’ speaking skill at SMUN11 Banjarmasin and the problems in implementing the techniques in classroom at that school.\ud The subjects of this research are three English teachers who teach English class X, XI and XII and 77 students of SMUN 11 Banjarmasin. While the object of this research are the technique in teaching speaking skill in classroom and the problems in implementing the technique at that school.\ud The data of this research are collected through observation, interview, questionnaire and documentary. All of the collected data are processed through editing, classification, tabulating and interpretation. The data are analyzed by descriptive qualitative way and concluded inductively.\ud The result of the research shows that the teaching in developing students’ speaking skill in classroom at SMUN 11 Banjarmasin runs well because the variation of technique used by teacher is good and the variation of media is fairly good.
