TEACHER’S TECHNIQUES IN TEACHING VOCABULARY FOR THE FIRST GRADE OF SMPIT UKHUWAH BANJARMASIN ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015

The statements of problem of this research are: What are the techniques that English teacher for the first grade of SMPIT Ukhuwah academic year 2013/2014 used in teaching vocabulary and What are the factors support on the application of the techniques in teaching vocabulary for the first grade of SMPIT Ukhuwah academic year 2014/2015.\ud The subject of this research is an English teacher of first grade students of SMPIT Ukhuwah Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015. And the object of this research is the techniques which are used by the teacher in teaching vocabulary and the supports that influence on the application of the techniques in teaching vocabulary for the first grade of SMPIT Ukhuwah Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015\ud To collect the data the writer used some techniques such as observation, interview and documentary. Data processing in this research is divided into three phases; editing, coding and data interpretation. All the collected and processed data are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively and concluded inductively.\ud The results of the research indicate that there are nine techniques for teaching vocabulary for the first grade at SMPIT Ukhuwah Banjarmasin on academic year 2014/2015, namely: finding synonym, finding antonym, memorization, fill in the blank, use word in sentence, question and answer exercise, enumeration, using dictionary and action sequence and all the factors support the English teachers to use various techniques, namely: teacher’s factor, facility and environment
