CLASSROOM INTERACTION AT SEVENTH GRADE \ud OF SMP ‘SMIP 1946’ BANJARMASIN \ud ACADEMIC YEAR 20142015

Most students who learn foreign language do not know how to interact each other instinctively a significant classroom interaction, while there are also some experienced teachers who are very good and do not really good in using the classroom interaction. Therefore, it is important to know the description of real classroom interaction. These reasons motivate the writer to focus the study on classroom interaction at Seventh Grade of SMP ‘SMIP 1946’ Banjarmasin.\ud The objective of this research is to investigated and described the classroom interaction of students and teacher in the classroom during the process of teaching and learning. With the following research questions are: (1)What are the Classroom Interaction of the teaching learning process at Seventh Grade of SMP ‘SMIP 1946’ Banjarmasin academic year 2014/2015 ? (2) Which is the more dominant between teacher talk and students talk during the class?\ud The subject of this research are the teacher and students at Seventh Grade of SMP ‘SMIP 1946’ Banjarmasin. The objects of this research are classroom interactions at Seventh Grade (A) of SMP ‘SMIP 1946’ Banjarmasin. And to collect the data, the writer uses some techniques such as (1)non-participant observation and (2) document analysis. Four phases: editing, encoding, decoding and constructing the matrix. Then, to analyze the data , the writer uses interaction analysis method by Flanders.\ud \ud The result of the research shows that all the categories of classroom interaction that adapted from Flanders were applied during the teaching-learning process. And the dominance between teacher talk and students talk is teacher talks with the higher percentage than students talk
