BACKGROUND: The possibility of an association between two vascular anomalies, renal artery dysplasia and cerebral artery aneurysm, merits recognition. CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 63 year old woman who was found to have fibromuscular dysplasia affecting the right renal artery while being investigated for systemic hypertension. Given a family history of cerebrovascular accident occurring before the age of 50, a cerebral angiogram was performed which demonstrated a saccular aneurysm of the middle cerebral artery measuring 6 mm in diameter.
