Due to their computational complexity, most production scheduling problems are notoriously difficult to solve. Therefore researchers and practitioners develop and use various heuristics in real life operational systems. We wonder if these heuristics, initially tailored to minimize a single criterion, could perform extremely badly or relatively well with respect to other criteria.
