BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is associated with a reduction in accessing specific autobiographical information. This is consistent with the abnormal development of personal identity that characterizes this mental disorder. Using a schizophrenic population, the present study evaluates the effect of a cognitive intervention on autobiographical memory and the capacity to project oneself in the future.
