Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum immunoglobulin concentrations, blood-CSF barrier dysfunction, pattern of intrathecal immunoglobulin synthesis, trypanosome-specific antibodysynthesis, and CSF lactate concentrations were analyzed in 272 patients with Trypanosoma brucei gambiense infection.
