Deep seated candidoses are the most common invasive fungal infections occurring in various categories of patients including those with cancer, burns as well as patients with AIDS or undergoing organ transplantation. Various clinical entities have to be distinguished with implications for diagnostic procedures as well as for adequate therapy.
